PROPOSAL SUMMARY
The proposed facility is an outdoor,skatepark. The park
will be a public facility and free to use for all. It will
not be a private facility
The proposed site will be fenced, locked and managed to
ensure the park stays clean and safe. Sited at Cowley Marsh
Recreation Ground, Cowley , Oxford.
It would be constructed from concrete and have a total
footprint of about 1700 meters square ,half the size of a
small football pitch.
The park is designed to cater for street skaters and
bowl/ramp skaters alike.
Comprising of 2 discrete sections - The Plaza on the right
of the image, providing street style obstacles.
and the Flow Section, the area to the left offering empty
swimming pool style bowls.
The majority of the park is below ground level to ensure
sound is reflected back into the facility , not away from
it.
The park would also be surrounded by a 2 metre high earth
bund to further reduce sound emanating from the facility.
The estimated cost of the facility is £400,000 which would
be raised by the Oxford Wheels Project.
