Our charity believes Cowley Marsh meets the OWP's criteria for a sucessful location.
Its distance from housing would ensure it wouldnt pose a noise nuisance to residents.
It’s location is perfect – there are excellent transport links from all over the city making it easy for kids to reach on public transport.
It has cycle and footpath path access, there is car parking for users of the park there is infrastucture such as road crossings, shops and amenities near by.
These are all vital elements not only to a parks success but to lottery funding eligibility.

Cowley is the most diverse and exciting area of the city ,what better place to cater for such a need?
What we are proposing for Cowley Marsh is a medium sized concrete skatepark of approximately 9000 sq ft surrounded by a sound proofing earth bund, that would be fenced, locked , managed and cater adequately for the city of Oxford.
Our current site in Meadow Lane is in fact a perfect working model of the Cowley Marsh proposals. It is a managed park located next to a school, adjacent to a flood plain, near shops in East Oxford. The wooden ramps are just 60 meters from housing, with no soundproofing and have caused no complaints ... only praise from residents.
The proposals for Cowley Marsh more than triple the distance to the closest house, over 180 meters and feature proven effective sound proofing measures. There are dozens of examples of skateparks around the country built less than 100 meters from housing and do not cause noise complaints, Cowely Marsh is no exception.
Its location in OX4 offers the unique benefit of our continued management.
The OWP volunteers have run meadow lane for 10 years and Cowley Marsh would benefit from simaler involvement from our charity, its location allows us to take an active , daily role in its management ensuring a facility that would be just as successful as Meadow Lane ,no other site in Oxford offers this. It is worth noting that we are the only organisation of our kind in the country who not only offer to fund the cost of a skatepark for the city , but take an active role in its management.
This is a totally unique opportunity for the council to provide for a need, working alongside a voluntary organisation to enhance oxford city and at no cost to the tax payer.
Oxford needs adequate wheeled sports provision now, and Cowley Marsh is the best location.
